My coloring sucks

I have learned over the years that I can shade like a pro but... when you give me a colored pencil I look at it and say to my self "I...I don't see any black" and then some one tells me to draw in color... to think I try to shade with color by only using one colored pencil... and I am totally serious a colored pencil to me is like a one of those furby things... they piss you off because you can't seem to get it to work right
-so I am asking if anyone is willing to somewhat teach me to color
-please or there will be much more similes and metaphors
